The Great Vault is the weekly cache for 3 different types of content in World of Warcraft Shadowlands – Raids, Mythic+ Dungeons and PvP. It is equivalent to the weekly chest that was available back in Battle for Azeroth.
The Great Vault Location
Shadowlands Great Vault is located on the northeastern side of Oribos Ring of Fates (coordinates: 65, 30) in Hall of Holding.

How does the Great Vault Work?
You can add items to the Great Vault by completing various activities each week. Each type of content (Raids, Mythic Dungeons and PvP) allows you to add up to 3 choices. Once the week resets you will be able to choose one item as a reward from all these choices. The more choices you have there is a higher chance of you getting a useful loot (instead of a single random loot).
Raid Objectives
- Defeat 3 Castle Nathria Raid Bosses
- Defeat 7 Castle Nathria Raid Bosses
- Defeat 10 Castle Nathria Raid Bosses
Dungeon Objectives
- Complete 1 Mythic Keystone Dungeons
- Complete 4 Mythic Keystone Dungeons
- Complete 10 Mythic Keystone Dungeons
PvP Objectives
- Earn 1250 Honor from Rated PvP
- Earn 2500 Honor from Rated PvP
- Earn 6250 Honor from Rated PvP
This system is great for casuals as well as players who are investing more time in the game. It also allows you to play the content that you enjoy.
Shadowlands Great Vault Item Level
The item level is determined by the highest level you completed for each of the objectives. If you can finish at least one objective at the highest difficulty, you will be rewarded with a loot choice of 226 item level.
If you defeat 3 raid bosses on heroic difficulty and 4 bosses on normal, you will get 2 loot choices. The first one will be a heroic loot and the second will be a normal one. These items will be from the Raid and you will be able to choose only one.
If you complete 1 mythic keystone 15 dungeon and 3 mythic+ 8, 14 and 10, you will receive 2 loot choices. The first loot choice is for the mythic+ 15 and the second one for the mythic+ 8 (4th highest). If you complete 2 more mythic+ 14 your second choice will be upgraded to mythic+ 14. You can continue to run more to unlock the 3rd reward (10th highest).
This is a good incentive for players who just want to run high mythic keystone dungeons. By completing 10 mythic keystone 15 dungeons, a player will be able to unlock all 3 loot choices with the highest reward for Dungeons.
